January 2011 Update - From The Sundance Film Festival

It is embarrassing that the last update was back in July, but a nice side effect is that it makes it very easy to fill out this new blog post!

First and foremost WiggyVonSchtick.com has been redesigned! In fact some of you may be reading this blog post on the home page!  Since we like to think of ourselves as a forward thinking company you'll notice that the site is really just a hub to all the different things going on.  For example there is a video on the home page as well, currently it is the teaser trailer for our current project Behind the Mask: Lifting the Veil Off of Plastic Surgery a documentary about the phenomenon of plastic surgery, but more than that we're looking into what it takes to become a plastic or cosmetic surgeon - and yes there is a difference - a major difference - between the two!

While Wiggy Webs, the New Media segment of Wiggy VonSchtick, technically started six months ago we are doing a major re-launch in February with new content and several new shows.  "Story Time with Ray" is returning and he'll be joined by Rene, myself and a bunch of our friends on our channel over at YouTube.  You'll also be able to see whatever the latest episode is right on the Wiggy VonSchtick homepage in the video box!

As it mentioned in the title, Rene and I are in Park City, Utah attending the Sundance Film Festival.  In addition to the movies and the parties we're also having business meetings for some of the projects that are in the pipe - head over to the MOVIES tab to see what they are.

In fact I should probably stop writing and get on with the day!  Make sure you check out the site and let me know what you think in the comments!

July Update: CMD! & Wiggy Webs!

Hello patient readers!

I know there hasn't been much activity on the blog, sorry about that, but we have been very busy in the real world.

As the months have passed we get closer and closer to completing the funding for Cheerleaders Must Die! after the horrible set-backs that effected the earlier funding.  We are pleased to have the support of National Lampoon and the cast and crew while we get over this unfortunate hump.  As the news gets better we will keep you, the fans, informed.

On a totally different note Wiggy VonSchtick has launched the 2nd phase of the company: Wiggy Webs!

Wiggy Webs is our YouTube channel where we will be posting original online content as well as featurettes, trailers, interviews and other "behind the scenes" bits as they come.  Here's a link to the Wiggy Webs channel.  Subscribe!  Hit the "like" button!  Embed!  Enjoy!  And embedded in this blog is the first of our thirteen part series "Story Time with Ray."

Court Decision on Net Neutrality

I know there hasn't been a post here in a while and you're probably wondering what's going on with Cheerleaders and the Syfy show - they're both cookin' by the way, but there's nothing to actually post yet - but I saw this today and thought it was important, especially for those of us working in New Media.

LOS ANGELES: The new and innovative website for RAW: Natural Born Artists will be released on Monday November 2nd for the world to see. RAWartists.org doubles as a social networking site that allows hand-selected artists to be interactive with others in the industry. More exciting features include the ability to shop online from local artists’ collections and the capability to view videos and listen to mp3s that RAW artists have created.

“We have taken the best practices of offline art showcases to create an online community that brings exposure to our artists, sponsors, visitors and RAW enthusiasts. We are very excited and we feel all our hard work and time has paid off,” said RAW’s Marketing Director Matthew Klahorst.

RAW is proud to announce the introduction of seven industry professionals/ artists themselves that will be collaborating with RAW to add expertise and even more creativity to the site. These directors in their various relevant fields will being providing RAWartists.org with up-to-date industry secrets and trends to keep the web audience informed on what is new and fresh in Southern California.

RAWartists.org is a mirror image of the creativity and hard work that founder Heidi Luerra and her team strive towards to set RAW aside from its competitors and place it in a category of their own in Southern California.

"RAW is a combination of everything I've learned, lived and loved thus far. Being saturated in artistic spirit is what I thrive on, creativity is the air I breathe- I'm just following my passion- and when one does that, only the truth is revealed. We help facilitate more creative energy, I have the best job in the world!” said Luerra.

The aesthetic beauty of the website alone is enough to attract anybody, but the true beauty is found within what is emerging from this new niche company. RAW's mission states a commitment to advancement, education and the environment RAWartists.org is powered by solar energy, along with their email system, monthly digital newsletters and database. RAWartists.org hopes to return next year as a non-profit, to better serve the arts community in Southern California and eventually the nation.
